Abdallah Saleh Jum'ah, Director, Zamil Industrial (Independent)
Abdalluh Saleh Jum'ah is a member of the Board of Directors of Zamil Industrial Investment Co. He began his professional career at Saudi Aramco in 1968 and was promoted steadily until he became President and CEO of Saudi Aramco on August 4, 1995.
He has led the expansion process of the enormous oil and gas producing operation and continually upgraded the company until it achieved top ranking among globally-integrated oil and gas companies. Under his leadership, the company has also followed a strategy that continues to maintain its position as the world's number one supplier of energy. While serving as President of Saudi Aramco and until his retirement in December 31, 2008, Abdallah Jum'ah was a member of the Board of Directors of Saudi Aramco. He was recently appointed as Chairman of the Saudi Investment Bank (SAIB). He also serves as a Director of the Saudi Arabian Supreme Council of Petroleum and Mineral Affairs.
He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the American University in Cairo since 1998, and has acted as Vice President of the International Advisory Board of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals since March 2007. He served on the Boards of various well-known companies, and has been a Board member of the US-Saudi Business Council and Saudi Petroleum International, Inc.
Abdallah Jum'ah was chosen as one of the most influential business figures in the world, and was appointed by the World Economic Forum as Commander of the Energy Community in January 2005, when he also won the petroleum sector award for Executive of the Year.
After studying political science at the American University in Cairo and Beirut, he completed the Management Development Program at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea.
